Hearth, Home & Classroom: The First 100 Years of The Lawrenceville School

  • Mercer County Library: Hopewell Branch 245 Pennington - Titusville Road Pennington, NJ, 08534 United States (map)

Since its establishment in 1810, The Lawrenceville School has become an internationally recognized and acclaimed co-educational boarding high school and National Historic Landmark in central New Jersey.  Prior to these achievements, the School spent nearly 100 years cultivating and expanding its unique environment and instructional methods.  Join the community in learning about the School's first century of existence -- the people, structures, and even the land that made this institution possible. Co-sponsored with The Hopewell Museum.

Sarah Mezzino is the Curator of Decorative Art & Design for The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Holding BAs in Anthropology, Art History, and Fine Art from The George Washington University and an MA in the History of Decorative Art from the Smithsonian Associates/Corcoran College of Art + Design, Sarah has worked with historic collections and buildings in the Mid-Atlantic region since 2003. In addition to her work at The Lawrenceville School, Sarah is a trustee of The Hopewell Museum, the New Jersey State Representative for the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries, a graduate of the Attingham Trust’s Summer School, Victorian Society in America’s Newport and London Schools, and Historic New England’s PINES program.
